New Jersey For Nepali Cricket Team!

The Nepali Cricket Team had a wonderful year in 2013 and here’s to keeping our fingers crossed that the team will continue to perform well throughout this year too! With the T20 World Cup just around the corner, our cricket team also have a brand new jersey to flaunt. It’s pretty shinyyy! The new kit comes after an agreement was signed between Singaporean sports company BS Sports and Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) for Nrs 30 Million in December, 2013. The jersey unveiling ceremony was recently held at the Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu.

Just a day later, “Wear The Spirit” was another event which took place at the Radisson Hotel in Kathmandu where well-known personalities from various fields gathered to further promote the new Nepali cricket team jersey and the launch of the FLAG DAY campaign. The familiar faces included the MAHA Jodi, CEO of Mega Bank Anil Shah, Sahana Bajracharya, Priyanka Karki, Reecha Sharma, Tenzin Tseten Bhutia, Sandeep Rai (National Football Player), Binod Das (former National Cricket team captain), Prithu Baskota,  Sanjam Regmi,  Deepak Bista (Former Olympian) and more.

Now what is FLAG DAY? Flag Day is basically every match that Nepal plays in Bangladesh. According to CricketLok.com “On the flag-day supporters will wear the official jersey to express their support to their team. The motive is to show the cordial support to Nepali national team by wearing the t-shirt in match days. The tagline of the campaign says “I wear the spirit”. Basically – its to super super support the Nepali cricket team and all around raise the morale of Nepali supporters and further promote Nepali cricket – which is GREAT.

First match is on the 16th of March against Hong Kong followed by Bangladesh on the 18th and Afghanistan on the 20th.
