FERGIE Announces Initiative To Fight Violence Against Women

Looking glam-smart!

Black Eyed Peas singer FERGIE recently swapped the glamour of LA for Washington to announce a new global initiative to end violence against women. The popstar who also doubles up to be the Avon Foundation Global Ambassador visited the state department on Thursday to announce a new public-private initiative called the Justice Institute on Gender-Based Violence. The initiative will be launching training programs in Nepal, India, South Africa and Mexico. The initiative will focus heavily on law enforcement and making improvements to protect victims of domestic and gender violence.

The Fergalicious star shared “I encourage women to speak up and not be shamed, to speak up so that justice can be served”.

I wonder if Fergie will be making a trip to any of the countries that Avon Foundation works in.
