Recently came across Studio Jux from Amsterdam! They are an award winning ethical fashion brand who can basically be summed up in three words : design + eco + fair. The designer of Studio Jux Jitske Lundgren “lived in Kathmandu for almost five years to manage the studio JUX factory together with a Nepali woman. In August 2013, a Dutch production expert moved to Nepal for the factory and Jitske moved back to Amsterdam to work together with Carlien on studio JUX’s international growth”.
Sounds pretty amazing no? That some of their clothes are produced in Nepal! Especially at a time when Nepali designers complain and many shy away from producing clothes in Nepal, citing quality factors – here’s a brand which makes clothes in Nepal, follows an alternative model and are well on their journey to the top – that is pretty intriguing!
They also have a Nepal section on their web-page! Visit the HANDSHAKE page to meet the people involved in Studio JUX – a wonderful way for them to introduce their Nepali staff. Loving the personal touch!
Studio JUX Achievements:

2012 Winner Green Fashion Competition – Amsterdam
2012 Runner up Source Awards – London
2013 Winner ASN world price – The Hague
2013 Runner up DAM price – Amsterdam
