8th Kathmandu Marathon on Sept 20


The 8th Kathmandu Marathon is just around the corner! The race which brings people of different walks of life including sportsmen, Nepal Army officials, journalists, different NGO/INGO’s and the general public will be broadcasted live on Nepal Television. Interested folks can participate in these different categories: Marathon, Half-Marathon, 5K Open, 5K School and Wheel Chair. Apart from its primary focus to promote long-distance running, Kathmandu Marathon’s major objectives include promotion of mass sports, to make people health conscious, promote sports tourism and more.

Get yourself up early on the 20th and head over to the Rangashala Stadium to join thousands of other runners! Before you do that – make sure you fill up a registration form by the 18th of September. The event is proud to be associated with ProSports, Rupak Smriti Pratisthan, Pashupati Paints, UNDP, World Food Programme, Key Advertising, Pathik Foundation, Air Voice, NepalBani Network, Spark Health Home Hospital, DryIce Solutions, Tribhujiya Sikchya and Nobel Hospital.

PS. UNDP is proud to partner with Kathmandu Marathon organizers to encourage girls and women to run for health. Generally more boys and men take part in sports events including running. UNDP will cover expenses for up to 100 girls and women who are interested in taking part in the Kathmandu Marathon. Please hurry and leave your details in the comment section.
