SAMAYA DRISHYA Drama in Reading

SAMAYA DRISHYA (Scenario of Time), a Nepali drama production will performed in Reading on the 23rd of April, marking the 1 year of the Nepal Earthquake which took place just before midday on the 25th of April. Through the performance, the thousands who perished in the earthquake will be remembered and the ticket proceeds will also go towards supporting First Educate Nepal, an initiative that helps families from a low-income background by providing additional skills. The concept for Samaya Drishya is by Tenzin Lama Pakhrin with the direction by Sanam Kumar Bairag.

This is definitely another wonderful event by the Nepali diaspora here in the UK! Even in the middle of everyones busy schedules with work, colleges and life in general; to be able to organize this and continue this engagement with our roots is a noble action. I hope such action will also spread to the young British Nepalese.

Director Bairag has acted in Nepali films in the past and some of the plays include The Tempest, The Insect Play and he was taught under popular mime artist Lorent Decol. He has previously directed the Newari natak AJATASTRU.

Samaya Drishya stars Miss UK Nepal 2012 Durga Gurung, Jyasang Lingden Limbu, Omkar Adhikari, Anju Shrestha, Suresh Shrestha, Roshan Mani Rai, Ganga Gurung, Sita Sherchan, Rajdeep Rai, Sushmita Thapa, Deepak Gurung, Alisa Paudel and Prasuna Kadel.
