Milan Rai’s White Butterflies Fly High On Turkish Airlines

The White Butterfly Man Milan Rai from Nepal is in London for his art installation project at the Southbank Centre – Royal Festival Hall. Even his journey from Kathmandu to London on Turkish Airlines was accompanied by a few hundred White Butterflies as they found a home on the airline seats. The photos which Milan shared on his Facebook simply look wonderful! I am sure the passengers were curious and delighted to spot a White Butterfly on their seats.

The artist will be spreading 50,000 White Butterflies across the Soutbank Centre in London on Friday, 19th of May. Volunteers are able to visit the centre to help him install the white butterflies from 11AM-5PM.

The Southbank Centre writes “Created by Nepalese artist, Milan Rai, this installation project aims to make art accessible for everyone – taking over public spaces with visually-stunning displays of white butterflies.

What started as a simple art project has grown into a global expression of hope and peace enabling participants to co-create, connect and share around the world.

Come along and be a part of this worldwide art project.”
