After a mega delay, Khotang district has finally been connected to the national road network with the completion of the Dudh Koshi Bridge at Jayramghat. Built at a cost of Nrs 11 crore, Kalika Construction and Hulas Company was supposed to complete the construction in 2009. The introduction of the bridge means Khotang residents will reach Kathmandu in approx. 16 hours and this may lead to the reduction in prices of daily products. Before the operation of the 150 meter suspension bridge, a temporary Beli Bridge was in use to cross the river. The new bridge has been constructed on the adjoining point between Khotang and Okhaldhunga districts.
