After I completed my week-long trek in the Langtang Valley, I checked myself into the comforts of the brand new Kathmandu Marriott Hotel in early June. The infinity pool at the Kathmandu Marriott was what drew me to make the booking! It’s definitely among the larger pools from the recent new hotels that have popped up in the capital city.
Though my stay was brief and I struggled to free up time to visit the different restaurants and offerings of the hotel, I found the property to be spacious and designed in a way that it had an essence of Nepal while having that global Marriott feel. The 10-storey property will fully come into operation at the end of July. With 214 guest rooms, a range of suites and the exclusive M Club, the Kathmandu Marriott Hotel is guaranteed to be the pick of business travellers and those that prefer the finer things in life.
I was really impressed with how immaculate the Junior Suite was. From the way that it was designed to the colour scheme, it was subtle and sometimes subtle is the best when there’s so much going outside the walls of the hotel. The pool was lovely! I am gutted that I didn’t have enough time to laze around and enjoy the hotel but it was the most hours of sleep I got after the completion of the trek and the Himalayan Travel Mart conferences.
