Miss Nepal Ishani Shrestha Reaches TOP 10 At Miss World 2013

Our Miss Nepal 2013 Ishani Shrestha has been working it down in Indonesia ahead of the Miss World grand event set to take place on Saturday 28th September at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center. Twenty-one year old Ishani will be competing alongside 127 delegates for the coveted title. Apart from looking super glamorous, our Miss Nepal has also won hearts of the Nepalis back home with her wonderful Beauty With a Purpose video. The young dentist discusses her very own Project Smile which aims to change the world one smile at a time. Whilst previous Beauty With a Purpose videos have been criticized for being ‘staged’, Ishani’s project is far from it. Huge kudos to her for the video and the project that she has set out to undertake. Miss World or not, I hope to see Ishani still continue with such efforts.

UPDATE: (28/09/2013) – Ishani Shrestha became the first Nepal to get a placement in the TOP 10 at Miss World, her ranking was No 5 based on the points that she had allotted during her time at Miss World. Although Ishani did not make it to the TOP 5, the 21 year old Miss Nepal won the title for Beauty With a Purpose courtesy of her Project Smile video and also danced on stage on the classic Nepali song Maitighar. This is a great moment for TEAM NEPAL and Nepali followers of beauty pageants.

It’s amazing to see how NEPAL has excelled in beauty pageants just in the past few years. Fingers crossed and hopefully this is also producing strong independent women capable to lead the present and the future generation…
