It has indeed been a while since FashionMandu 2016 and I’m sure atleast some of you have been waiting for me to write and share about the event here on the blog. I was honestly, waiting for the official photos to come through.
The second FashionMandu 2016, a runway event took place on Friday 18th November at the Hurstville Entertainment Center in Sydney. The event is so much beyond fashion, it was an evening where the world was presented on stage as the audience enjoyed traditional ancient Kumari Dance performance by Sifa KC, stunning Chinese dance by a group of ladies and entertained by many powerful performers including Jersay Delaney and her team! Putting the Fashion back in FashionMandu, the event consisted of Rochelle Moore Fashion Design, Lena Kasparian, Anya Hurwood, Tunde Doja, MuCe Fashionalaya (Rasna Shrestha), Suruchira – Designs (Suruchira Shakya), ExoticaSwimwear and Redcarpet Runway.
PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS: Chinese Dance Show. Jersay Delaney And Performers. Anya Hurwood Collection. Namrata Shrestha. Jasmine Henry’s Acapella Performance.
The performers, dancers, singers, designers and models – and the many more individuals working hard backstage did an incredible job to put on a show! From the young talent Jasmine Henry who sang Cold Water live without music, after facing an audio glitch to the SWAT Crew dancer, FashionMandu 2016 was truly an event with some quality performances.
From Anya Hurwood’s edgy, bold designs to MuCe’s feminine colours, the designers collection uniquely made their own mark. The collections received more glamour as showstoppers Namrata Shrestha, Dayanna Grageda, Amie Bransgrove and Sarah Jehan walked for different designers.
All the photos used on the post is by official photographer Vivek Basnet. Big kudos to the organizers for this years event. Of course there are many learnings to be made from this years show. My suggestion is time-keeping and people management – when you have that on lockdown, I believe most things will fall into place together. Nonetheless, thank you for your hardwork and I am grateful for the opportunity given to emcee the event. You can view more photos by many photographers on Facebook – FashionMandu Page.
PS. I will be writing a separate informal post about the FashionMandu, Australia and Fiji experience!
