Yeti Airlines Says Bye To Plastic Cups

Yeti Airlines has been working hard to be Nepal’s greenest airline. The Nepali airlines is the first in the country to successfully reduce and offset its total Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions of 2018. It sounds a bit complicated right? Basically, according to UNDP Nepal “The airline underwent an independent carbon audit process facilitated by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that calculated the airline’s total carbon emission and laid out plans to reduce and offset the same.”

The latest action taken by the airlines is their farewell to plastic! The green airline shared a message via their social channels directed to passengers starting “Dear Passengers, thanks to your advise we have replaced plastic cups with paper cups on all our flights. We would like to thank all of you in being part of this mission to reduce plastic pollution by letting us serve you. By eliminating the use of more than 50,000 plastic cups every month Yeti Airlines supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action.”

I am impressed! Simply because – it’s so simple to avoid using plastic cups and this is something that every individual can do as well. Apart from these big green actions, the airline also introduced electric vehicles to their fleet. Looks like there really is no stopping for Yeti Airlines.

Keep up the action! Keep planting trees too!
