Pride historically began as a protest and it continues to be in many places globally. People who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer+ continue to face discrimination from the state and society in many ways. There are many uphill challenges for individuals who are part of the community. Nepal has many examples of transgender women succeeding in different areas, however the death and mistreatment of transgender women continue to be splashed across the national dailies. The UK reported that transgender hate crime rose to 81% in a report published this week. Hate crime exists and continues, it’s global.
On this very final Pride Nepal Tee features, I am incredibly excited to introduce Elyn Bhandari. Elyn identifies as a straight transgender man. In simple terms, he is a guy and he is physically and emotionally attracted to women. Elyn previous feature on lexlimbu.com can be read by clicking here! He wears the Pride Nepal Mountain Tee designed by Arutosh Gurung in these photos captured in the streets of Thamel and the LGBTIQ friendly Pink Tiffany.
The Pride Nepal Tee collaboration has been presented by Metaphor Fashion x lexlimbu. The collab is a symbolic presentation of Nepali LGBTIQs from UK and Nepal. I hope you’ve enjoyed the stories and seeing that there are MANY of us. We are here. We are queer.
Buy the tees at NRS 999 for Metaphor Fashion.
